Accessibility Statement
Counsely is committed to making our platform accessible and inclusive to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We believe everyone should have equal access to college guidance tools, resources, and support—regardless of ability.
Our Commitment
Counsely is committed to making our platform usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. While we are still actively improving accessibility across the site, we've taken the following steps and are continuing to build on them:
- Designing with accessibility in mind: We're working to make core pages navigable and readable for all users, including those using assistive technologies.
- Using semantic HTML and proper structure: Where possible, we use correct heading levels and semantic elements to help screen readers interpret content.
- Adding meaningful alt text: We are gradually ensuring that all images and icons include descriptive alternative text.
- Improving contrast and readability: We aim to meet recommended contrast ratios to support users with low vision.
- Basic keyboard navigation: We are identifying key user flows that must be fully accessible without a mouse.
- Ongoing improvements: We have not yet completed screen reader testing, but we plan to prioritize this in upcoming development cycles.
